Steve Morris

Managing Partner

Steve is Portland’s Managing Partner.
As Director of Communications at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, he led the government’s communications on major flooding emergencies, outbreaks of foot and mouth disease and avian influenza.
He was head of the Downing Street Strategic Communications Unit, where he oversaw a wide range of work including digital communications.
He was an adviser to Tony Blair on European issues 2002-2007.
He spent five years in Brussels as a spokesman for the European Commission and a member of EC President Romano Prodi’s Cabinet.
He joined the Civil Service Fast Stream in 1995, after reading Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University.
