Kitty Ussher provides economic and policy analysis to Portland and its clients.
A former Treasury Minister, she is now the managing director of the public policy research company Tooley Street Research, and also serves as a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel, and of The CityUK’s Independent Economists’ Group.
Kitty was an MP from 2005 to 2010, serving as a minister in the Treasury and DWP and her government experience also included three years as special adviser to the then Department of Trade and Industry from 2001 to 2004 and a term as a Lambeth councillor from 1998-2002.
After leaving parliament in 2010 Kitty served as Director of the think tank Demos and maintains associate arrangements with a number of London-based think tanks. She is also the chair and co-founder of Labour in the City.
