Portland’s Contact App wins CorpComms Digi Award for ‘Most Innovative Product’

We’re delighted that CorpComms Magazine’s Digi Awards – which showcase the best of digital communications – have recognised the Portland Contact App as “Most Innovative Product”, beating off strong competition from organisations including BP and Southern Water.

It was fantastic to hear the award’s judges, representing the in-house digital teams of some of Britain’s largest organisations as well as leading digital communications agencies, describe Portland’s App as a ‘very innovative, genuinely new and different product’ – reflecting the feedback we’ve had from across the public affairs and corporate communications industries since the app’s launch in September 2011, including:

For PR and public affairs professionals this is an incredibly handy tool. While most people subscribe to paid databases, this is free and is mobile.
Simon Goldie – Head of External Relations, Lexis Nexis

Great App. Very useful. Thanks.
Giles Croot – Director, Media Relations, Barclays Group Corporate Affairs

Congratulations to our digital team, the other winners last night, and all of the companies shortlisted.

The Portland App provides clear and accurate contact information for key political players, news sector desk contacts and profiles for leading newspaper editors, allowing users to manage an interactive list of their essential contacts. The app was recently updated to include details of all select committees in the House of Commons.

Its development was managed in-house by Portland’s digital communications team, led by former Downing Street Head of Digital Mark Flanagan, and since its launch, has been downloaded more than 3,800 times and received a customer rating of 4.5 out of five in the App store.

The Portland App can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/portland-contacts/id460383807?mt=8.
